Norton University (New Building)

Norton University is a private university in Cambodia registered with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. It was established in 1996. The University was one of the first private Cambodian educational institutions.

In 2006, Tom Chandler, a 3-D modeling specialist from Monash University in Melbourne was invited to Norton as a senior visiting fellow. The aim of the fellowship was to introduce architecture and science students to specialized animation and modeling techniques and allow them to learn to digitally render their own heritage using 3-D techniques. Norton University has a campus in Phnom Penh and the current Rector (2008) is Chan Sok Khieng.

Buckhunger

Buckhunger is a soup kitchen that provides free lunches to some of the poorest children of Phnom Penh. In one day they feed more than 200 hungry kids who are about 3 to 11 year old children accompanied by adults or guardians. Everyone is welcome to the soup kitchen that is located on Street 460, close to Tuol Tompoung Market.

Buck Hunger also assists young adults through its restaurant training programme. The soup kitchen is staffed by 15 young people. They all receive on-the-job-training to prepare them for working in the service industry.

Buckhunger is a small organisation that depends on private donations, so you are more than welcome to contribute.

Preah Ang Duong Hospital

Preah Ang Duong Hospital is located at street  Preah Norodom, Sangkat Phsar thmei I, Khan Daun Penh. They to Provide basic eye care services for all Cambodia and to eliminate locally endemic blindness. It is a public hospital.

The National Program for Eye Health ( former Sub-Committee for the Prevention of Blindness ) was established in 1995 by the Ministry of Health and act as technical adviser to Ministry of Health. The role and duty of this Sub-committee was to develop and implement a National Plan for the Prevention of Blindness and provide technical advice to the Ministry of Health.

In 1995,  the Sub-committee developed a Master Plan and First Five Year Action Plan for prevention of blindness and approved by the Ministry of Health. This Plan aims to provide basic eye care service in each region of Cambodia and to reduce blindness prevalence to less than 0.5% by the year 2005.

In 2008 the New Strategic Plan for Blindness Control ( 2008-2015 ) was developed for continuing of further eye care system development in the Country. Human Resource, Facility Development, VISION 2020 Disease Control and resource mobilization are main Priorities in the National Plan.

Zaman International School (High School)

Zaman International School (ZIS) is a private Turkish school in Phnom Penh, which opened in 1997. ZIS offers an education to children from K1 to grade 12, and welcomes all students from age 5 to 18.

Western International School (Boeng Trobek)

Western International School (WIS) is a private academic school located at the heart of Phnom Penh. National Bank of Cambodia

The National Bank of Cambodia(NBC), is located at street Norodom in Phnom Penh of Cambodia. The bank’s duties include, inter Alia, the management of monetary and exchange policies, the regulation of banks and financial institutions, and the control of the national currency, the riel. The bank was established in  1954 after the Indochina Printing Institution closed when Cambodia obtained its independence from  France. The National Bank of Cambodia is also known as the “Red Bank” or “Banque Rouge”. It is an autonomous central bank with a 7 member board of directors responsible for establishing operational policies and issuing decisions, regulations, circulars and other directives. The National Bank of Cambodia supervises the banking system and is the chief banker for the government of Cambodia. The bank has four organizational areas, namely: the General Cashier, the General Directorate, the General Secretariat, and the General Inspection. His Excellency  Chea Chantois the chairman of the board of directors and the current Governor of the Bank.

Canadia Bank

Canadia Bank is located on Street 93 (Preah Monivong), Sangket Wat Phnom, Khan Daun Penh. It was established on 11 November 1991, as the Canadia Gold & Trust Corporation Limited, under a joint-venture with overseas Cambodians and the National Bank of Cambodia, and as a sole office financial institution managed by the former staff of the National Bank of Cambodia and Canadian Cambodian shareholders. The main activities were based on gold transaction, gold plaque manufacture and credit to local merchants.

In 19 April 1993, the name of the institution was changed to “Canadia Bank Ltd.”, and subsequently to “Canadia Bank plc.” on 16 December 2003, as a  commercial bankregistered under the Ministry of Commerce and the National Bank of Cambodia. Since privatization in 1998, the bank has become one of the largest local banks.
